Happy Groundhog Day
As you may know, February 2nd is Groundhog Day. Punxsutawney Phil, made (in)famous by Bill Murray’s film Groundhog Day, apparently saw his shadow around 0730 this morning. This is supposed to mean another six weeks of winter which also means I won’t be heading anywhere near Punxsutawney, PA, in the near future.
Canada’s version of Punxsutawney Phil, Wiarton Willy, is in Owen Sound. I haven’t been able to find out whether he saw his shadow or not this morning. Hopefully he didn’t because that would mean winter’s almost done.
It was cloudy in Ottawa this morning, so any Marmota monax who poked its head out of its burrow this morning probably didn’t see their shadow, which is supposed to be a good sign. 🙂
