A couple of months ago I wrote about my experiments with voice over IP (VoIP). Today, I called Bell and had them strip all the features off my phone line, except for Caller*ID and add a busy transfer feature. I also dropped the long distance package I had since it’s been redundant since the experiment started. Now, if someone calls my Bell number and it’s busy, it will roll over to my Unlimitel DID.
Removing all these features is going to save me about $21/month. I think even the customer service rep at Bell was impressed.
If you’re watching tv Tuesday morning, you should check out Breakfast @ the New RO between 0800 and 0900. My bell choir is going to be playing two songs sometime during the last hour of the morning show.
Being live television, this means we have to setup at 0430 and do a sound check at 0500. (Ugh!)
Should be fun, though. We’ve done the morning show at the New RO a couple of times over the last two or three years and each time it’s been an interesting experience.
Went to see Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith last night. So, after 28 years, the story is complete — or at least as complete as Lucas is concerned. I read somewhere that there are two or three more books that could be made into movies, but George Lucas has ruled that out. (He is, however, embarking on a fourth Indiana Jones movie.)
The movie itself was fairly well done and explains how Darth Vader came to be. We are blessed by the fact that Jar Jar Binks was only onscreen for a couple of seconds and didn’t actually speak. (Meesa so happy!) Yoda, on the other hand, is quite impressive when pissed off he is.
Found three geocaches yesterday with Kathy and Darin. Tried to find a fourth cache, but because of where it was and the fact that we had drawn the attention of a security guard, we opted to scrub the attempt rather than be faced with having to explain why we were skulking around a federal government facility.
The BBC is reporting that Vatican Radio officials, a cardinal and a priest, have been convicted of “polluting the atmosphere with powerful electromagnetic waves”.
I went up to check on the cottage with my friend Scott today after hearing that the water level was much higher than usual. It was almost to the fire pit and there was evidence that the water had been up to the end of the fence. I took some pictures which I’ve added to my gallery.
