Facebook settings: Don’t be caught with your privacy showing

December 15, 2009 @ 12:36 By: gordon Category: General

If you’re a Facebook user, and many people are, you should check out Darin’s recent post about setting your Facebook privacy settings. Recent changes Facebook have made likely mean that much more of your information is available to search engines like Google than you realize.  Darin talks about how to get things locked down to a safer level and why you’d want to do this. Remember, the Internet never forgets!

    Quite unlikely.

If you blindly accepted the suggested settings during the most recent changes, you might have ended up being much more visible than you intended. (Of course, if you blindly accepted the suggested settings you shouldn’t be surprised by the results.) Personally, I opted to stay with my already locked down privacy settings rather than go with their suggestions.

Regardless, Darin’s post is worth reading if you use Facebook.

Oh yes, I agree with you there. I’ve locked down a bunch of info too.
